Steven B. Dodge is currently the founder and operator of Windover Development LLC (www.windoverllc.com). Architecture and landscape design has been a long-running fascination of Dodge’s. He did not begin a company that would allow him to explore these interests, however, until 2003. Prior to founding Windover LLC, Dodge operated companies in the entertainment industry.
Dodge got his start in entertainment by joining Bank of Boston as a Vice President in charge of commercial lending. His focus was movie and motion picture lending. Steven B. Dodge found that he had a knack for this work and he built the most profitable CATV loan portfolio of any national bank. In 1978, Dodge decided that it was time to form his own organization so that he could focus on his interests and have more control over operations.
Steven B. Dodge formed American CableSystems Corporation later that year. This company gave him the opportunity to make his own business decisions. Under his guidance, American CableSystems Corporation grew quickly over the next decade. In 1988, the company was bought by Continental for $450 million. At the time, American CableSystems was one of the top cable TV companies in the US.
After the sale of American CableSystems, Steven B. Dodge formed American RadioRadioSystems Corporation. Like his first company, this one grew rapidly under his guidance. It soon became a leader in 19 of 20 markets, had shares on the NYSE, and caught the attention of CBS Radio. ARS merged with CBS Radio in 1998.
Over the next several years, Steven B. Dodge concentrated on American Tower Company, which had once been a subsidiary of ARS. He eventually decided to pursue his interests in building development, though, and left the company to found Windover LLC in 2003. Windover has successfully completed several impressive projects since then, including the new headquarters of Bank Gloucester and The Boulders in Wenham, MA.
